The day after the Big Game is one of the most unproductive workdays on the calendar. More than 22 million employed Americans planned to miss work the day after this year’s Big Game, and 36% of those who did plan to show up said they would be less productive than usual.
This sluggishness translates to an estimated $3 billion economic loss for American businesses due to absenteeism and lost productivity.
Employers can plan for a holiday, but they can’t plan for 22 million people suddenly calling in 'sick’. That’s why we want to deliver a day off after the biggest game in football. The Super Monday Off Coalition is a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to making this idea a reality.
